The Kemet 15 (380mm Plate Diameter) is a bench mounted Lapping machine of rigid metal construction with a worktable, adjustable for height. It incorporates a digital process timer and a fully automatic Liquid Diamond Dispenser System.

Kemet Series 24

The Kemet 24 (Plate Diameter 610mm) has a rigid welded tubular section steel frame, which supports the gearbox, drive motor and worktable. It houses an integral abrasive compound feed and waste tank positioned behind lift-off access panels.

Kemet Series 36

The Kemet 36 (914mm Plate Diameter) has a rigid welded tubular section steel frame, which supports the gearbox, drive motor and worktable. It also houses an integral abrasive compound feed and waste tank behind lift-off panels. The machine incorporates a soft starting feature, which smoothly accelerates the lapping plate from stand still to full speed, over a pre-determined period.

Kemet Electronic Dispenser
Converts your Flat Lapping Machine to a Kemet Diamond Lapping Process.

Has fully automatic independent control of both Kemet Liquid Diamond and Lubricating Fluid by means of touch sensitive settings. The digital display is easy to read and shows dispensing intervals, durations and air pressure at a glance. Dispensing is achieved to an accuracy of 0.2 gram eliminating wastage, making costs simple to calculate.

Kemet Liquid Diamond Stirrer Unit
Maintains a consistent distribution of Diamond particles within the Slurry by using a small non-contaminant plastic coated paddle magnet which is immersed in the Liquid Diamond. When the Stirrer Unit is in operation, the paddle rotates at a preselected rate ensuring even Diamond Suspension.

Kemet Dual Dispensing Bar
Can be positioned to accurately dispense Liquid Diamond and Lubricating Fluid on to the Lapping Plate without spray bounce.

Gives improved flat polished surfaces on many materials. Mirror surfaces can often be produced on harder materials.

Used to monitor lapping plate flatness which, in turn, will give an indication of component flatness. All these items are essential if high quality flat components are to be produced.

Kemet Abrasive Products Kemet supply the widest range of abrasive products, including Liquids, Pastes, Suspensions and Powders. Aluminium Oxide, Silicon Carbide and Boron carbide are available in all grit sizes.

Kemox

Kemox is a pre-mixed aluminium oxide suspension primarily for redressing and reconditioning Kemet or Cast Iron Lapping Plates. Kemet recommend Kemox O-400 for faster conditioning.

Col-K

A Liquid polish used on Kemet CHEM Cloth to produce the ultimate in high quality mirror polishes on polishing machines. A part abrasive, part chemical polishing action makes COL-K well suited to polishing difficult materials such as Stellite and Cobalt Chrome.

Abrasive Pastes

Kemet Manufacture a wide range of abrasive pastes including SABRE which is produced with aluminium oxide and is suitable for most fine lapping work. Our range of silicon carbide and boron carbide pates have many applications but are particularly suited to the lapping of mechanical seal and valve seats.

Sub-contract Lapping and Polishing

Our expertise is wide and varied and includes the lapping and polishing of: Valves, Spacers, Cutter Discs, Mechanical Seals, Comparator Stages, Flat Plastic Mould Inserts, Aircraft Pump Components, Compact Disc Mirror Blocks.

Our machines are equipped with both standard and special Lapping Plates to enable us to process most types of components. We are able to lap and/or polish components up to 530mm diameter (21" approximately).

We can process most materials to a specific surface finish or flatness. Shouldered components, i.e. those with a raised centre or shaft, are also able to be lapped.

All work is returned with a Certificate of Conformity covering the generated surface finish and flatness, relative to the customer's drawing or specification.
